5CP Class

Welcome to 5CP’s class webpage. We have settled into our new term and are working really hard. We are following the new school rules which are: the right to learn, the right to feel safe and the right to respect.

We are reading Holes, by Louis Sachar, in English lessons and are enjoying learning about Stanley’s family curse and Camp Green Lake. Have you ever seen a yellow spotted lizard?

In Maths we have been working on our knowledge of number and place value, and will soon be moving onto the four main operations. We are working on our application and reasoning skills.

Our Topic this term is ‘The Amazing Americas’ where we have been learning about physical and human features of areas, the difference between climate and weather and have been doing some map work.

We have been learning about Evolution and Inheritance in Science, where we have explored famous scientists and look at how humans and animals have adapted over time.

We have been learning about Hinduism in R.E. lessons, and are gaining an understanding of what Hindus believe about God and the role of deities. We are looking forward to a special visitor coming in soon.

Following on from last year we are still having Premier Sports for P.E. lessons which the children love and enjoy, particularly their teacher who is an award winning coach.

On Tuesday afternoons the children have rotating lessons of Art, Music, French, Science and P.E.
